Mission

To promote education, prevent delinquency, encourage community development, and empower the residents of La Florencia de Mora to create a brighter future for their families.

Education

Three levels of instruction of the Peruvian public education system include:

Initial - 3 years (ages 3-5)

Primary - 6 years

Secondary - 5 years

Thousands of Peruvian children do not have access to even one of these levels because they are too poor. With average wages of $4-6 per day in the most impoverished districts, covering the costs of tuition and supplies is unlikely. These underpriveledged children are left to roam the streets or work. Education is a key factor to the successful developement of their future. Without an education, what do they have to look forward to?

La Florencia de Mora

We work in La Florencia de Mora, which is one of the most impoverished districts of Trujillo, Peru. Unemployment, drug abuse, and crime rates are high. There is a lack of unity and support between community members to help get past the everyday struggles they are faced with. At Tabby's Hope our objective is not only to help children, but to assist this district with it's rebuilding. A positive place is in need in La Florencia de Mora and Tabby's Hope is just that.
